Nee-naw, the Health Department is coming 🚑

Lab report 🔬 Our virus has mutated again. Here is what changed in this strain:

🧬 New mutations

  • 🚑 Nee-naw, the Health Department is coming: once your network grows, it sends a disinfection wave into your area, an ambulance drives along the real streets to its spot, spreads foam around itself and sprays your cells.
  • 🏆 Fight back and grab the loot: every foam cell you take brings you its share of Befall, and whoever knocks out the ambulance gets the rest. It leaves your hotspots alone, it's announced in advance in your town's chat, and with “Watch” you can follow it on its way.
  • ✈️ Fly there: the outbreak report of a place now has a button that takes you straight to it.
  • 💍 Your way to the next evolution: a golden ring around your virus up top fills up as your network grows and sweeps forward with every new cell. On your PC your evolution shows as a yellow badge under your name.
  • 🧑‍⚕️ 100 health officers instead of 8: almost every place now has its own doctor on its outbreak report, from Dr. Onionsmith to Dr. Atchoumbert.

💪 Stronger strain

  • 📖 Dr. Virus explains your evolution right when you need it: try to paint a chain it doesn't allow yet, and he tells you what the next evolution brings.
  • 🎬 The little film on how to drag and paint ghost cells now plays in the window of your first evolution with ghost cells, so everyone gets to see it.

🩹 Bugs in quarantine

  • 🗺️ Your first move right after zooming in no longer fails with “The map can't be read there right now”: the game waits a moment for the map.
  • 💬 Messages do what they say even when a window is open: “Secure first” on your virus card takes you to your account, and the message about a new version opens the patch notes, also on the join screen.
  • 🎞️ The drag film, the glowing ring and the two-finger hint stood still in Safari and in the live game. They move again.

Stay contagious! 🦠 Your Mad Scientist 🧑‍🔬
